About the Company
Our large NSW State Government client functions as a service provider to support sustainable government finances, major public works and maintenance programs, government procurement, information and technology, corporate shared services, consumer protection as well as land and property administration.
About the Role
They are currently seeking an Accounts Clerk / Financial Administration Officer to join their team in Sydney CBD. This is an entry level role that would suit a university graduate or an individual returning to the workforce. This is an estimated 10week temp assignment, with a strong potential to extend.
Reporting to the Manager, you will be required to complete reconciliation of bank deposits against system totals, identifying any discrepancies between actual amounts banked and the bank settlement.
Reporting to the Manager, you will b responsible for supporting business and financial operations across the Division. You will be adept at balancing a range of conflicting priorities in a high workload and dynamic environment to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Deliver professional customer service, answering enquiries within a timely and accurate manner
- Provide back-office support including outbound customer payment queries
- Assist month end reconciliation by closing out items and identifying reconciling items
- Identify inefficiencies and contribute to process improvement outcomes
- Support audit and early close deliverables
- Records and database management, ensuring high integrity, accuracy and confidentiality
- Ensure compliance with best practice and legislative requirements
About You
- Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written
- A strong team and task focus
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency with MS Office Suite including Excel
- Superior organisational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting deadlines
- High attention to detail
Requirements
- Qualifications or demonstrated experience in Finance or Accounts preferred
- Previous experience in a highly transactional environment
- Willingness to undertake National Police Check
- Ability to commence and commit to the duration of the assignment
