They are committed to putting the customer at the centre of everything they do and leveraging new technologies to make government services more efficient. Their Cyber and Information Security Office is driving a major program to enhance cyber security across the Department and its agencies.
About the Role
They are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Consultant to join their Cyber Security team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and advising on security controls and solutions in alignment with NSW and Federal Government frameworks.
You will play a pivotal role in safeguarding organisation assets, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of critical information, and helping the organisation proactively defend against cyber threats.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain information security controls and standards
- Provide expert advice on emerging security threats, solutions, and technology investments
- Participate in regular security reviews and recommend risk mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure security requirements are embedded into projects and initiatives
- Contribute to the Information Security Strategy and raise awareness of security policies and practices
- Automate solutions using PowerShell and other scripting tools
- Drive a culture of security awareness across the organisation
About You
- Hands-on Cyber Security Consultant with experience in enterprise security architecture
- Skilled across Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365, CI/CD pipelines, and developer tool stacks
- Strong knowledge of DevSecOps practices and software development
- Collaborative and able to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to operate in a dynamic and complex technical environment
