Our large NSW State Government client functions as a service provider to support sustainable government finances, major public works and maintenance programs, government procurement, information and technology, corporate shared services, consumer protection as well as land and property administration.
About the Role
Our client is seeking a Principal Project Manager to join their team in Sydney CBD with some flexibility of working remotely from home a few days per week. This is an estimated 12month assignment, with a potential to extend
As a Principal Project Manager, you will be required to lead and oversee the end to end implementation and delivery of a new Travel and Expense Management System across multiple Government departments. This strategic initiative involves consolidating existing platforms, streamlining commercial arrangements and enhancing support and share services processes.
Project Scope
- Integration with FCM Online Travel Request and Approval including booking, allowances and advances
- End to end processing for PCard, expense reimbursements, CTA and VCard, with rule based coding and compliance guidance
- Robust approval workflows including escalations and reminders
- Automated accruals for accurate financial tracking
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and delivery of the new Travel and Expense Management System
- Identify interdependencies and leverage resources to maximise efficiencies
- Lead and manage project teams to deliver key milestones and outcomes
- End to end project management using project management methodologies
- Oversee all aspects of project development and implementation including business cases, project plans, government structures and reporting
- Ensure project outcomes are delivered on time, within budget and to quality standards
- Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement, risk management, benefits realisation and quality assurance
- Provide expertise on emerging project issues and present recommendations aligned within policy and strategic objectives
- Establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships facilitating engagement, collaboration, partnerships and contribution of ideas
- Ensure compliance with best practice and legislative requirements
About You
- Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across all levels
- Solid analytical, negotiation, influencing and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency with MS Office suite
- Superior organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting deadlines
Requirements
- Qualifications in Program or Project Management
- Knowledge in Project Management Methodologies including PMBok, Prince2, or similar
- Strong leadership experience
- Government Sector experience highly desirable
- Proven knowledge and experience in managing and delivering multi-disciplined complex projects, particularly involving the implementation of new systems
- Ability to manage cross functional teams and drive outcomes in a multi-agency environment
- Expertise in project governance, risk management and benefits realisation
- Willingness to undergo a National Police Check
- Ability to commence and commit to the duration of the assignment
