Procurement Officer | NSW State Government
Procurement Officer required to join NSW State Government in Parramatta Location. Commencing ASAP.
- $60-$70 per hour + Super | 35 hours per week
- NSW State Government | Parramatta + WFH Location
- ASAP Start | Estimated 3-month temp assignment, with strong potential to extend
Our NSW State Government client provides a diverse range of essential services to reduce criminal activity and enhance protection of the community.
About the Role
They are currently seeking a Procurement Officer to join their team in Parramatta. This is an estimated 10-week temporary assignment, with strong potential to extend. Reporting to the Manager, you will be required to coordinate the contract and supplier performance reporting that ensures compliance with contractual obligations and performance measures, contributing to the achievement of improved commercial outcomes in accordance with Departmental and state Procurement policies and procedures.
In this rewarding role, you will be undertaking the following duties:
- Assist Corrective Service Industries team to implement procurement strategies
- Coordinate contract and supplier performance reporting to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and performance measures
- Undertake analysis of organisational procurement activity
- Gather and collate information to support informed decision-making outcomes
- Procure a wide range of goods and services including consulting with stakeholders to determine business needs
- Preparation of well-structured and concise documentation
- Support tender processes including writing tender documents, supplier coordination, evaluation and project management activities
- Assist in the negotiations of state-wide purchase of services from providers
- Provide expertise and recommendations to stakeholders in the application of framework, guidelines, processes
- Work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders to facilitate cohesion and cooperative approach
- Ensure compliance to NSW Government and Departmental Procurement frameworks
About You
To be successful in this great assignment you will have the following:
- Procurement and Contract management experience essential
- Public Sector Procurement experience highly desirable
- Thorough understanding of NSW Government Procurement frameworks
- Impeccable interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong computer literacy skills and proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Superior organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting deadlines
- A strong team and task focus, takes initiative with willingness to assist others Solid analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to undergo a National Police Check
- Fully COVID vaccinated or medical exemption
- Ability to commence and commit to the duration of the assignment
