About the Role
Our client, a NSW government agency, is seeking a motivated Project Officer to deliver the Healthy Food Information Service (HFIS). This role supports the state-wide implementation, monitoring, and reporting of initiatives to promote healthy eating in schools and health facilities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct menu check assessments for schools, ensuring alignment with healthy eating guidelines and the NSW Healthy School Canteen Strategy.
- Provide practical advice and support to canteen operators to improve menu offerings.
- Manage incoming phone and email enquiries regarding healthy food programs, menu checks, and policy requirements.
- Maintain accurate service records and contribute to monitoring, reporting, and continuous quality improvement.
- Prepare reports and submissions as required.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Nutrition, Dietetics, Health, or a related discipline (Bachelor’s degree minimum; postgraduate qualifications highly regarded).
- Experience delivering health promotion programs, ideally within school, childhood, or nutrition-focused settings.
- Knowledge of obesity prevention, chronic disease prevention, and health promotion, particularly for children and young people.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities during peak periods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear, practical guidance to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a team environment.
