Our large NSW State Government client drives integration and efficiency across long term planning, precincts, housing, property, infrastructure, open space, environment, natural resources including land, water, mining, energy and growing our industries.
About the Role
They are currently seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to join their growing team in Parramatta with some flexibility to work remotely from home a few days per week. This is an estimated 6month temporary assignment, with a strong potential to extend.
This role will be responsible for managing projects across the project lifecycle from project ideation to completion, with a focus on design management and client-side project management.
Responsibilities
- Develop and define strategic and/or capital works projects from ideation phase to meet GSP requirements, prepare detailed and accurate project briefs and manage the procurement of consultants, contractors, and external project managers in accordance with NSW Government policies and procedures.
- Manage, monitor, report and deliver strategic and/or capital works projects in accordance with agreed objectives, approved designs, budgets, programs, risks and internal governance mechanisms.
- Gain all necessary approvals to deliver projects including engagement with GSP stakeholders, coordinating with external government agencies, organisations and utilities providers.
- Manage project teams, ensuring compliance with internal project governance and quality requirements, to successfully deliver project objectives and achieve all milestones.
- Foster and manage relationships with community, interest groups, stakeholders and internal staff to develop projects and ensure the coordinated delivery of projects.
- Provide appropriate levels of advice and information to stakeholders on emerging project issues and to support project delivery in line with agreed communication plans, budgets, programs, and objectives.
- Contribute to and support the development of organisational improvements, risk management and safety training while staying appraised of current standards.
About You
- Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written
- Solid analytical, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
- Superior organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting deadlines
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency with MS Office suite
Requirements
- Tertiary Qualifications in Project Management or an equivalent field such as Architecture, Urban Design or Civil Engineering
- Current Australian driver's license and ability to travel to and attend work sites
- Flexibility to work weekends when required
- Ability to commence and commit to the duration of the assignment
