The Opportunity

An opportunity is available for an experienced Operations Manager to oversee fulfilment and distribution activities across Australia and New Zealand for a well-established international consumer products organisation.

Working closely with four direct reports across warehouse operations, transport, inventory and New Zealand operations, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day activities while identifying opportunities to improve service, efficiency and cost performance.

This is a hands-on leadership position suited to someone who enjoys working closely with operational teams, developing people and improving processes. You will also work with a range of internal stakeholders and external logistics partners to support business requirements, improve the customer delivery experience and implement broader operational initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily warehouse, transport, inventory and fulfilment operations across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring service levels and delivery targets are achieved.
  • Lead, support and develop four direct reports, helping them manage their teams, prioritise workloads and maintain consistent operational standards.
  • Monitor operational performance, including delivery service levels, productivity, inventory accuracy and distribution costs, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Work with transport providers to maintain service standards, resolve issues and improve operational performance.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase warehouse throughput, efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Support inventory planning, forecasting and replenishment activities to ensure stock availability and accurate inventory records.
  • Work with internal teams across sales, marketing, finance, IT, planning and customer service to coordinate stock requirements, promotions and new product launches.
  • Improve fulfilment processes and the customer delivery experience, including online orders, returns, collection channels and last-mile delivery.
  • Support the effective use of ERP and warehouse systems, ensuring data accuracy and reliable information across operational processes.
  • Assist with distribution planning, logistics projects and the implementation of global operating standards.

You are an operations or logistics professional who combines sound operational knowledge with the ability to lead people, solve problems and improve performance. You are comfortable managing day to day priorities while looking for practical ways to make processes more efficient.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Experience in operations, logistics, warehousing, distribution or fulfilment management, ideally within retail, FMCG, e-commerce or a similar environment.
  • Experience leading teams and coordinating supervisors, team leaders or operational managers.
  • A sound understanding of warehouse operations, transport, inventory control and third-party logistics.
  • Experience monitoring service levels, productivity, costs and operational KPIs.
  • The ability to identify process improvements and implement practical solutions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across different business functions.
  • Experience using ERP, WMS or other supply chain systems
  • Good planning, organisational and problem-solving skills, with a focus on customer service and operational outcomes.
  • A relevant qualification in operations, logistics, supply chain or business will be advantageous.

Why Consider This Opportunity?
This is an opportunity to join an established international business in a key operational leadership role, with responsibility across two markets and the support of an experienced team.
You will have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on operational performance, develop your leadership capability and contribute to ongoing improvements in fulfilment and distribution.
Travel within Australia and New Zealand may be required from time to time, along with occasional flexibility to support international stakeholders.
