The Role
As Senior Manager – Innovation & Product Development, you will lead a multidisciplinary function across engineering, Product Development (NPI) and Innovation (R&D). This role is focused on leadership, capability building, and creating a high-performing culture, rather than deep technical specialisation.
You will oversee multiple concurrent projects, balancing strategic direction with hands-on execution, while partnering closely with Operations, Quality, Commercial, and Executive Leadership.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary engineering, NPI, and R&D teams
• Build leadership capability, succession pathways, and technical depth across the function
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Create an environment that attracts, develops, and retains top engineering talent

Innovation & Product Development

• Drive innovation and new product development across multiple programs and product streams
• Deliver complex, concurrent NPI and R&D initiatives from concept through to commercialisation
• Build scalable systems, governance, and ways of working to improve delivery, quality, and speed

Advanced Manufacturing & Operational Excellence

• Partner with manufacturing, operations, and quality to align product development with production capability
• Influence cross-functional stakeholders and support strategic prioritisation and investment decisions

About You

You are an experienced engineering or product development leader with a track record of leading multidisciplinary NPI and R&D teams within advanced manufacturing environments, ideally from a medical device industry.
You bring experience delivering multiple concurrent programs, including large-scale initiatives, and experienced operating at both strategic and execution levels.

• Proven leadership of engineering, innovation, or product development functions
• Strong people leadership across multidisciplinary teams
• Experience delivering multiple concurrent, high-value programs
• Background in advanced manufacturing or complex production environments
• Ability to improve systems, processes, and engineering capability
• Strong stakeholder engagement across operations, quality, and commercial functions
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical challenges and solutions into commercially meaningful insights for stakeholders at all levels of the organisation

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Development, or related discipline
• Postgraduate qualifications in leadership, engineering, or business are advantageous
