Our client is seeking an experienced communications professional to join the Communications and Engagement team on a temporary contract basis.
Working in a small, high-performing team, the successful candidate will undertake a mix of strategic and operational communications activities, including media relations, event management, social media, website management, report production, stakeholder engagement and support for public inquiries. The role also involves working closely with the Commission's education team and may include preparing speeches, presentations, briefing materials and background research.
The ideal candidate will be curious, politically aware and interested in the role that integrity, accountability and public trust play in the NSW public sector. A strong understanding of current affairs and the broader political environment will be highly regarded.
The role will suit an experienced communications adviser, PR professional or journalist.
Required skills and experience:
- Qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in communications, journalism, public affairs or a related discipline
- Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills.
- Experience developing content across a range of channels, including media, digital and corporate communications.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
- Digital communications, social media management or graphic design skills would be advantageous.
- A strong understanding of current affairs, government and the broader political and public policy environment and the role of integrity and accountability bodies.
- Project manage the Commission's annual symposium
- Coordinate production of annual and ad hoc reports
- Assist the team in supporting public inquiries
- Enhance and grow the Commissions' current social media presence.
